Chris & Sandra

Newport Beach Club, Middletown, Rhode Island

September 24th, 2016*

One of the hardest parts about getting older is realizing things change. The music you loved goes from pop culturally relevant to being called a throwback tune and, eventually, an oldie. The movies you counted among your favorites get remade with a new cast. Businesses that became staples of your everyday life go out of business or become rebranded entirely.

Not all change is bad, however, as I found out when shooting Chris and Sandra's September 2016 wedding at Newport Beach Club in Middletown, Rhode Island. The former site of the Atlantic Beach Club, a well-known restaurant in the heart of the so-called "island," the place held many memories for me as my wife's family would go there every Thanksgiving for their holiday celebration.

Chris and Sandra's wedding was the first time I got to see the newly-remodeled club, under new ownership and with a new goal in life: to become a top-tier destination wedding venue in one of the country's most sought-after wedding cities.

And after shooting this New York couple's beautiful nuptuals and amazing reception, well, I can say they appear to have succeeded.

Chris and Sandra's day was flat out amazing, helped in no small part by the beautiful location right by the water, the incredible outdoor ceremony spot and a drop dead gorgeous reception area. This, folks, is why sometimes change can be a good thing.
