North Beach Clubhouse Wedding Photos

There's a certain risk you take when you second shoot a wedding. No matter your personal preferences, you may have to work with a couple that doesn't get you or your vibe and, often, you don't find out it's not a great match until you're in the middle of photographing their wedding day and, at that point, you have to grin and bear it.
Luckily, I'm at a point in my photography career that I generally only second shoot for companies run by friends of mine. I know if I'm working for someone I personally like that, chances are, the couples they book will also be super cool and fun and that was certainly the case the day Lauren and Arianna said "I do" back in October.
I met Lauren and Arianna through my work for Pretty Nerdy Photography and it didn't take long for me to see they were the exact kind of couple I like to work with on my own and that's why their beautiful fall wedding day was so much fun from the minute I walked into bridal prep until the very last song of the night.
* These photos were taken as part of my work as a second photographer for Pretty Nerdy Photography
and are presented here strictly for portfolio/display purposes.
My time with Lauren and Arianna started with one of the most chill bridal prep sessions I've ever seen. In fact, it may well be the chillest as there was not only one bride, but two, and neither one of them made a big deal out of seeing each other before their ceremony or getting ready together.
I really liked this little touch on Lauren and Arianna's wedding day as the couple clearly had no intention of ever being stressed and treated it just like any other special event they planned to go to together.
That created an entire vibe of a casual hangout to start their day and, really, things never changed all that much, even as the time for their ceremony ticked away.
One of the nice luxuries of having these two brides get ready together was there was no need for a first look and we could take care of their formal photos before their ceremony, which made the rest of their day so much easier.
First we started with some nice photos of them walking down the dock near outside of their bridal prep location and, later, we had a super casual formal photo session at the very bright, but very fun, Point Judith Fisherman's Memorial in Narragansett.
Lauren and Arianna never took these photos too seriously so getting genuine smiles and reactions from the two brides was easy.
I think the most interesting part of Lauren and Arianna's wedding day was, because these two brides had taken care of so much of the prep and formal photos prior to their ceremony, by the time it was time for them to walk down the aisle, it felt like the bulk of the day had already been finished.
Not that I minded, of course. This just meant the ceremony itself was an added bonus. And what a ceremony it was.
Starting by walking down the aisle hand in hand, Lauren and Arianna had a beautiful ceremony full of precious moments together as the sun set at the North Beach Clubhouse. You truly couldn't have asked for a better time, or place, to say "I do."
As fun as Lauren and Arianna's wedding ceremony was, I could tell the party portion of their night would be the thing everyone talked about most and my feelings were confirmed the minute their friends and family members gathered on the back deck of the Clubhouse to watch the two of them share their first dance.
Lauren and Arianna's wedding reception was true to the casual vibe they had all day, so much so that after a couple of nice toasts, the two newlyweds largely spent the dinner portion of their event talking to friends and family members and casually hanging out.
So much so that when we asked to take some more formals of the two brides with the moonlight reflecting on the ocean behind them, they were all about it.
Even their cake cutting was quiet and relaxed.
In many ways, I think these two were just saving their energy, though, because once the dance floor opened up, it really OPENED UP.
Lauren and Arianna's friends and family were all over the dance floor under the North Beach Clubhouse tent and it was one of the most fun times I've seen at a wedding this fall for sure.
Perhaps most impressively, the two brides themselves were never far from the action.
I don't know how often Lauren and Arianna dance the night away but on this night? On this night it looked second nature to both of them.
As I packed up my gear and made my way out of the North Beach Clubhouse for Lauren and Arianna's wedding, I couldn't help but feel grateful that my schedule still allows for the occasional second shooting wedding.
I don't make a point of taking too many of these a year but, often, the ones I do truly do stand out and that was certainly the case for Lauren and Arianna's super fun wedding in Narragansett.
So thank you Lauren and Arianna for letting me play a small part in documenting one of the best days of your lives and I wish you all the best as you start this new and exciting part of your journey together as wife and wife.
