Gianna & Aiden
Roger Williams Park, Providence, Rhode Island
October 5th, 2025
I take a lot of pride in being able to showcase a couple for who they are during an engagement session or wedding but, every now and again, I literally have nothing to do with it because a couple I work with is so awesome that their personalities would shine with or without me.
And that's just about the best compliment I could pay to Gianna and Aiden, whose October engagement session at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island wasn't just one of the most fun engagement sessions I had in 2025, it was one of the most fun engagement sessions I've had, period.
Gianna and Aiden are such a ridiculously fun couple and I knew from the moment we met up in the parking lot of the Casino area of Roger Williams Park that we were in for a special session and if their wedding day is even HALF as awesome as this shoot was, I know it'll be a wedding to remember come the fall.

My time with Gianna and Aiden began in what is quickly becoming my favorite spot in all of Roger Williams Park: the grassy area on the side of the Casino building. You can't always access this area, especially if the park has an event that day, but when you get over there, it's almost always a beautiful place for photos and an even better place to start a full portrait session.
I like to start engagement session with some simple poses to break the ice with a couple but, honestly, Gianna and Aiden were one of the rare couples who were camera ready and good to go right from the jump and within moments we were off and running.
I especially loved how these two brought fun little twists to all the pose ideas I was giving them and it was clear they were having just as much fun as I was ... which is hard for any couple to do to be honest.

The nice thing about the Roger Williams Park Casino area is there are so many places you can take a couple without needing to move much.
With Gianna and Aiden, though, I knew right away that I wanted to take them to the front of the Casino building proper as that spot looks incredible on a sunny day and these two had picked the perfect day for a fall engagement session.
I especially loved the "High school lockerroom" pose Gianna wanted to create leaning against a wall. As I've long said, my couples come up with the most fun pose ideas and I'm always HERE for it.

The fun thing about working with a couple like Gianna and Aiden is knowing that, once we've established the shoot a little bit and had our laughs, it's easier to get them into more romantic poses that showcase their genuine love and affection for one another.
This was my focus once Gianna and Aiden shifted into their second outfits for the session but, of course, even the beautiful photos we took in the Japanese Gardens at Roger Williams Park weren't without a little bit of silliness.

If I had to pick a favorite part of Gianna and Aiden's engagement session, I think it would be how fluid everything was. Whenever I'm working at Roger Williams Park, my goal is to hit three or four distinct spots but I really try hard not to force anything or rush photos.
With Gianna and Aiden, everything was so smooth and easy that we were able to bounce from location to location with ease and, somehow, every spot looked more beautiful than the last.
I mean, look at the iconic Iron Footbridge here. This is like peak fall in Roger Williams Park and Gianna and Aiden nailed the look and vibe of this batch of photos perfectly, especially with the soon-to-be bride giving me a little bit of attitude with her faux middle finger in the air photo. I laughed so hard taking this. It was perfection.

As my time with Gianna and Aiden started to come to a close, the pair had only one final request: Pick a beautiful spot for sunset.
Roger Williams Park can be a tricky spot to shoot in for sunset as it's by far the most unpredictable place for lighting I regularly shoot at but, on this day, I felt we were best served going to the Temple of Music and I was right. We lucked out incredibly with one of the best sunsets I had in 2025 and it was the perfect end to this session.

I had a lot of fun shoots in 2025 but I can't say many made me feel more like I was just hanging with friends and having a great time more than Gianna and Aiden. I think that speaks volumes to how comfortable this couple is with one another and I can only imagine how the wedding day will be even more incredible.
As I write this, their big day is eight months away but I can confidently say it is one of the moments I'm looking most forward to in 2026 and I know, in my heart, we have big shoes to fill to match how great our first session was.
So thanks Gianna and Aiden for an amazing photo shoot. Can't wait to do it all over again in the fall. See you soon! :)
