Meaghan & Daniel
Saphire Estate, Sharon, Massachusetts (Ceremony & Reception)
October 30th, 2025
You can wish for a beautiful wedding day all you want. Sometimes, Mother Nature has other ideas and, when she does, it's up to you to bring the sunshine one way or another.
I think that's the best lesson I learned from Meaghan and Daniel's wedding back in October at Saphire Estate in Sharon, Massachusetts. After looking forward to this wedding and this couple for well over a year, I couldn't help but be sad for them when I arrived to their wedding and there was nothing but rainy, gloomy, depressing clouds overhead.
But you would have never known that from the bride and groom themselves as they were shining bright from the start of the day until the very end.
Meaghan and Danny had one of my wettest and rainiest wedding days I shot in 2025 but it was also one of the most fun and silliest. And, more importantly, these two made it their own and they made it absolutely amazing.

My coverage of Meaghan and Daniel's wedding day began by running from a downpour to get into Saphire Estate about a half hour before the bride and groom did. I always love arriving to a venue with a lot of extra time to set up my gear and I knew from having shot this couple's engagement session back in 2024, that once they arrived, we'd be off and running and we sure were.
I love Saphire Estate for a lot of reasons but chief among them is the bridal prep suite, which might arguably be the best one I've shot photos in. It's spacious, well lit and even comes equipped with a great corner to hang a dress.
This alone started our day off great. Then, when Meaghan and her girls arrived, things got even better.

I've always felt that having good people around you on your wedding day is one of the most underrated keys to a successful event and Meaghan's group fit that to a tee. These girls were fun and silly and kept the bride in great spirits.
That's not to say that just because we were having a good time that there weren't emotional moments, too. I especially loved seeing the bride and her mother interact as Meaghan got her dress zipped and the closer we got to the bride bring ready, the more you could feel the anticipation build and the excitement grow for a day I knew these girls would never forget.

Our first task for Meaghan and Danny was a first look. I was very much looking forward to this myself because I knew that, if we timed it right, we would have justttt enough of a break in the clouds to take the bride and groom outside in between rain showers.
What I didn't know was how unconcerned the couple were about any of it. In fact, they chose instead to just live in the moment and their first look was certainly that: a moment.

After giving Meaghan and Danny some time to relax with each other after their first look, I checked outside and saw the rain had finally let up. This meant we absolutely needed to run out and grab some formal photos of the soon-to-be newlyweds because, truth be told, I wasn't sure we'd have another chance.
I'm glad we did.

We only got a total of 11 minutes to work with the bride and groom before we had to run back inside to avoid ruining Meaghan's dress before her ceremony but that was more than enough time to catch this couple's entire vibe and essence on this day.
I especially loved the fun and silly ways Meaghan ragged on Daniel and had him carry her dress over a puddle or told a joke that cracked him up. These two are so cute and fun together and that came through amazingly in these photos.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from Meaghan and Danny's ceremony. Despite the fact that I've shot more weddings than I can count at Saphire Estate, I'd never done one indoors so this was going to be all new to me.
And while Saphire Estate is a beautiful place to say "I do," I was worried the place Meaghan and Danny would say "I do" in on this rainy day would be too small to move around.
Luckily, it wasn't. It was just large enough to photograph while also feeling cozy and intimate for those in attendance.

Daniel and Meaghan's wedding ceremony was one of those ceremonies that made me go "This is just so them." I've always said a couple should look, act and feel like themselves when they are vowing to spend the rest of their lives with their person and these two certainly did.
Not only did they have a close friend officiate the wedding but he was one of the closest people to the relationship and spoke highly not only of Danny and Meaghan as people but as a couple, a distinction I think really matters when you approach a life milestone as important as getting married.
The personal stories really gave insight into why we were all gathered to witness this union and kept the mood light and fun.

What I especially loved about Danny and Meaghan's ceremony was their vows. The pair expressed their love and admiration for each other perfectly and their promises to one another were both sweet and sentimental ... but not without a touch of fun.
My favorite moment came as Danny and Meaghan exchanged rings. Shortly after Danny put Meghan's ring on her finger, their officiant and Meaghan both started doing a little happy dance that made me smile. Seconds later, Danny lifted the wrong hand for Meaghan to place his ring on and both cracked up and made jokes about it. It told me that, even in this special moment, they knew who they were and why they were there.

After sealing their love with a kiss, Danny and Meaghan indulged me for a moment and headed outside for an attempt at "sunset" photos. We didn't get too far as the sun was already gone by the time we made our way outside but we did grab some nice shots on the water fountain outside and that would suffice for me.

One of the little things I loved about Meaghan and Danny's wedding was how casual the details were. Saphire Estate is a huge venue space for a wedding reception and it's very easy for couples to get carried away with the decor and details on their special day but Meaghan and Danny kept it simple and clean.
That helped the staff of the venue in particular as they turned the room over from the ceremony and reception while also still looking really nice and fall-like, even if the outside weather felt more like we had taken a sharp right into winter.

Meaghan and Danny's reception was a bit of an enigma to me before it began. While the couple themselves are a ton of fun and very go-with-the-flow, I didn't quite get that vibe from their guests and didn't know what to expect from the party portion of the night.
Thankfully, the newlyweds brought the party themselves, right from the moment they were introduced into the room.
The pair kicked off the night's festivities with a beautiful first dance set to "Light My Love" by Greta Van Fleet and, honestly, it might have been my favorite moment of the whole night. I loved how deep into this dance these two were and you can see it all over their face: In this moment, they were the only two people in the world and I loved that for them.

In keeping with the theme of the day thus far, Meaghan and Danny's first act after their first dance was to sit and listen to a pair of toasts, both which sounded almost identical to the vibes of their ceremony as the pair were individually praised for their kind hearts and their ability to make those around them better.
I always laugh when I hear folks talk about brides and grooms like this because everyone in the room knows that the couples in this situation would rather anyone focus their attention on anyone else and they don't do kind things for praise but for the benefit of others ... and, yet, everyone in the room also has an air of "Please let us love you."
It's a fine line to walk but this wedding did it beautifully.

Meaghan and Danny also had two beautiful parent dances, both of which were sweet and sentimental. I could tell looking at Danny and his mother, and Meaghan and her dad, that all four of these individuals were holding their emotions in but that's the beauty of wedding photography: The camera doesn't lie.
You could see on all of their faces what these dances meant and I think that's beautiful and a lovely reminder of why this genre of photography matters so much.

Following dinner, Meaghan and Danny eschewed the traditional wedding cake cutting moment for a more private and casual cupcake tasting and that felt very fitting for the day ... and I know some of their younger guests didn't mind as I saw at least one of the children at this wedding sneak off and grab a cupcake during their ceremony.
After sealing their love with a sugary dessert kiss, it was time to party. And party they did.

I had so much fun shooting Meaghan and Danny's wedding reception, particularly the dance floor portion of it because this crowd was so much more lively and rowdy than I expected. What really warmed my heart, though, was just how much time Meaghan and Danny themselves spent in the middle of the madness.
I love when couples have the most fun of anyone in the room on their wedding day and that was certainly the case here. Danny and Meaghan didn't miss a single moment of their party and they left it all on the floor in the best way.

As my time with Danny and Meaghan came to an end, I was absolutely exhausted from a long day of shooting but couldn't wait to get home and see all the fun we captured because weddings like the one these two had are what keep me going through busy season.
While the weather may have rained a bit on our parade, it didn't dampen the bride or groom's spirit and, in the end, that's all I ever care about. Meaghan and Danny had a silly, beautiful time tying the knot and I'm so grateful I got to document it all for them to cherish forever.
So, thank you Meaghan and Danny for a great start to my hardest weekend of the year and I wish you nothing but the best as you move forward together, forever, as husband and wife. :)
