Christina & Spencer
Eustis Estate Museum, Milton, Massachusetts (Ceremony & Reception)
October 31st, 2025
I've always been fascinated by the idea of a Halloween wedding. Perhaps it's the incredible creative room to play around with the theme, or the timeless imagery invoked by the idea "'Till Death Do Us Part," but I find there's something oddly romantic and beautiful about choosing to say "I do" on arguably the darkest and most nontraditional holiday of the year.
That's probably why I'm always cautious when couples tell me they are tying the knot on Halloween. I mean, if you're not going to go all in on the theme, what's the point? I could tell just minutes into meeting Christina and Spencer at a bridal expo at 2023 that that wouldn't be a problem though. This couple was MADE for a Halloween wedding.
Christina and Spencer said "I do" at the Eustis Estate Museum and Study Center in Milton, Massachusetts and it was, without a shadow of a doubt, a wedding that lived up to its Halloween billing. From arguably the most incredible black wedding dress I've seen to a dazzling array of on-point decorations and my favorite night photos ever, Christina and Spencer's wedding had everything I could have hoped for from a spooky and scary day unlike any other.
And it'll be a long time, I think, before I see a wedding that goes this hard on a wedding theme and nails it this incredibly.

From the moment I walked into the Eustis Estate Museum, I could feel the creepy vibes in the air. Christina and Spencer's venue was straight out of old school, Colonial historic New England and there's simply no chance, whatsoever, that that building isn't haunted with spirits and tales of years gone by.
Add to it that this day, in particular, was a classic late fall October afternoon, with cold, crisp air and the waning colors of foliage barely holding on and the entire atmosphere was giving graveyard and death vibes.
In many ways, Christina and Spencer's wedding felt like something pulled directly out of the Beetlejuice universe and I mean that in the best way and I could tell when I started my coverage with Spencer's last bit of getting ready that he felt it too.
This was going to be a special day and we all knew it.

What was great about Spencer and Christina's wedding was that as nontraditional as it all was, deep down they both have all the nerves and excitement you'd expect from two people getting married. Sure, they may have been doing their wedding their way but that didn't mean it lacked the importance of a so-called "traditional" wedding day and you could see how much it meant for the bride, in particular, as the big moments drew near.
Christina had nervous energy throughout the beginning of the day but especially in putting her dress and accoutrement on and this girl came CORRECT. Not only did she style the dress with a long black veil but it had a corset front, shoulder pieces and one of the most intricate headpieces I've seen at a wedding. Simply put, you could tell Christina put a lot of thought into this outfit and it looked it.

Christina and Spencer began their day with a first look and I think that was a crucial piece of the tone we'd set. While the bride was certainly nervous about getting every little bit of the day right, and her focus was often drawn to the decor and details, having Spencer and Christina share a moment before their ceremony was vital to reminding them why they were there and what really mattered.

Spencer and Christina's first look also gave us time to capture some bride and groom formals before their ceremony and I'm so grateful it did because the foliage at this venue was insanely colorful.
In fact, I'd go as far as to say that the red leaves we had in the background of Christina and Spencer's bride and groom portraits were some of the most vibrant and beautiful I've ever seen and they popped off the all-black attire of this bride and groom perfectly.

I didn't get nearly enough time with Christina and Spencer for their bride and groom portraits as I would have liked but, to be honest, I don't think they could have given me enough time regardless of how long we spent out there.
The thing about late October weddings is, often, you're at the mercy of the light as the sun sets crazy early the longer wedding season draws on and with Christina and Spencer getting married outdoors, the best I could hope for is we got their first kiss and proclamation as husband and wife in before we lost the light.
Thankfully, we did and their ceremony was one unlike any I've ever shot ... and that's before we even factor in that many of the members of the audience arrived dressed in Halloween costumes per the couple's request.

Christina and Spencer's ceremony took place right out front of the Eustis Estate Museum and the museum itself was the perfect backdrop for this moment in their lives.
That building looks like it could come to life in any moment and Spencer and Christina's nuptials were very much lively and full of beautiful moments. I especially loved the hand-fastening ceremony that showed just how they wanted to bind their lives and souls to one another and by the time these two walked down the aisle as husband and wife, you could feel something special took place and we were all lucky to witness it ... even Deadpool.

Following Christina and Spencer's ceremony, we ran through their family formal photos and wedding party photos as the light faded away.
I'd say it was tough but their friends and family members were extremely cooperative and we flew through them as fast as could expect. What was tougher, it turns out, was trying to capture all of the details Spencer and Christina had inside once we made our way into their cocktail hour.
Of all the couples I had in 2025, Christina and Spencer had, by far, the most detail-oriented wedding I saw but, as I said above, if you're going to do a Halloween wedding, you have to do it right and these two certainly did.
I don't know if I had a particular decor item I loved the most, and the photos below are just a sliver of what was on display but I did love their amazing-looking wedding cake and Christina's bouquet was beautiful and provided the perfect setting for their wedding ring photos.

Spencer and Christina kept the formalities of their wedding pretty simple and I loved that for them. After one of the most relaxed cocktail hours I've seen in some time, Spencer and Christina officially opened their reception up with a welcome speech and rolled right into dinner.
In fact, it would be a full THREE hours after their ceremony that we started the formal portion of the reception off with a simple cake cutting. By the time this moment came, you could feel the crowd was ready to party and the newlyweds weren't far behind them, opening the dance floor portion of the evening off with a first dance set to Schitt's Creek Version of “Simply the Best” by Noah Reed.
I loved this dance for a number of reasons, not least of which was how happy both the bride and groom looked in the moment.

After their first dance, Spencer had one more big moment left on the night: Dancing with his mother and that dance was just the sweetest thing to watch and photograph.

With formalities over, it was time to dance the night away and I didn't know what to expect from Christina and Spencer's wedding reception ... other than a good time.
I was a little worried we might not get a big dance crowd, though, as the playlist was mostly Halloween themed or inspired and the photo booth seemed to attract most of the attention but the moment Christina took to the dance floor, the entire tone of the night changed and it was time to cut loose in the best way.

I always love when a bride and groom can finally be themselves on a dance floor and after seeing how stressed and anxious Christina was early on, I was so happy for her to see her shake those nerves away and really soak in how special this night was when the dance floor opened up.
Christina and Spencer were all over that dance floor and they didn't let a moment go by when they weren't making the kind of memories that make weddings so incredibly impactful.

Before Spencer and Christina's awesome last dance, capped off by the power going off in the spookiest way it could have, I took a few moments with the bride and groom outside to set up some night shots.
Part of the reason I did this, honestly, was I felt Christina wasn't fully herself during our portraits earlier in the day and I wanted to give her some beautiful on-theme photos that felt like the Halloween wedding she envisioned. And, honestly, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the photo I led this blog off with and the photo below, both captured during these night shots and with the Beetlejuice color scheme this couple were going for, were two of my favorite shots of the entire 2025 wedding season.
So thank you Christina and Spencer for trusting me with your special day and photos I think captured it beautifully. It was an honor to document this amazing moment for you and I wish you all the best on this new and exciting chapter of your lives together as husband and wife. :)
