Title: The Greatest Gift

Your wedding day is, without question, one of the most stressful of your life and no matter how much time and effort you put into it, inevitably something WILL go wrong and the stress of what is the biggest moment of your life will get to you.

But it's also, without question, one of the best days of your life.

Back in October, I had the pleasure of photographing Kerry and Adam's wedding at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown and it really was an almost-perfect affair.

I say almost perfect because the one thing we couldn't control was traffic and traffic was the one thing that went wrong.

Try as we might, the planned 5:30 p.m. ceremony went off about 20 minutes later than we had hoped and with every minute we waited for the shuttle to arrive, the stress of the day wore in the face of our groom-to-be.

But that's why I love the photo above so much.

See, after waiting for what seemed like forever but was in actuality about 40 minutes, Adam finally got to see his bride at around 5:50 p.m. and, in an instant, all the stress and worry faded away.

Above, you can see Adam as he waits for his soon-to-be father-in-law to walk his soon-to-be wife down the aisle and gone are any of the negative connotations of the day. In their place is a look of pure joy, pleasure, pride and love.

This is why weddings are awesome. Because no matter what you're feeling, no matter how the day goes, there's a great, big gift waiting for you the moment the ceremony begins and that's your soul mate.

For Adam, the wait may have been agonizing but there's no doubt it was worth every second. Because when you've found true love, nothing can dampen your spirits.
