One of the things I love about, well, love is how universal it is and how the very concept transcends all languages, generations and cultures. For that reason, anytime I am asked whether or not I'm comfortable photographing a wedding in a language other than English, my answer is always "Yes." Because even if I don't know, with 100 percent certainty, what's being said and what's going on, all I have to do is look at the faces of the brides and grooms getting married to know how much the day means to them and what I have to photograph.
Yesica and Edwin's Spanish-language wedding ceremony back in August at Allendale Country Club in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts was just like this and though the quiet, reserved couple's wedding day may have lacked the showy, over-the-top wedding moments I've become accustomed to, it was an intimate affair that was truly heartwarming to see.
This wedding day wasn't about being the center of attention. It wasn't about showing off or making a big deal out of saying "I do." It was about two people who fell in love and wanted to commit to each other for the rest of their lives and that's a message you can always understand with ... or without words.
