Welcome to Paul J. Spetrini Photography!

Well, hello there!

My name is Paul J. Spetrini and if you're reading this, it means you've stumbled upon my website for photography.

More specifically, you've stumbled upon the blog that I intend to write for my website for photography.

So just what does one blog about on a website where the images are supposed to tell the story for you?

Well, that much I don't know. But what I do know is how to tell stories and it's my intent to use this blog to do just that.

Here you'll find some of the funniest, sweetest and most touching moments that I've encountered as a photographer, from the first time I ever shot a wedding to my most embarrassing blunders while behind the lens.

The point of this blog is to help you get to know me, the person. If you're into that sort of thing, feel free to check back as it's my goal to make this a fun and insightful posting that helps you get to know who I am outside of the images you see on my site.

If you're not into that sort of thing, that's OK too. I won't get offended if you'd rather keep browsing my photos. In fact, I encourage it whether or not you read this blog.

This blog is also meant to shine a little bit of a life into what it’s like to be an up-and-coming wedding photographer. Now, I’ll admit, I’ve still got a lot to learn in my field. While I feel I am getting better each and every day, it wasn’t that long ago that I was completely lost and had no idea what to do.

It is my hope that, perhaps someday, some new and inexperienced photographer will find his or her way here and this blog can serve as a little bit of a guide on how to overcome those first few years of jitters and mess ups.

I plan to be brutally honest in this blog. For those of you that know me, that’s not going to come as a surprise. So if you’re just expecting this blog to be like every other photographer’s blog out there (Mainly, here are some details of the wedding I shot and no personal antidotes that might make me seem bad), you’re in the wrong place.

I believe that to really connect with a photographer, especially one who you want to shoot your most important moments, you need to know who that person really is and learn more about them than what their images might tell you.

That’s why I have titled this blog “Beyond the lens.” It is my hope that through these words, you’ll get to know the real me.

Right off the bat, though, I will let you know one real important thing about me. I am a little bit long-winded. Sometimes I am my own worst editing nightmare and I have no doubt that that will be the case here. Call it the curse of being a former professional writer. So, if there are any posts that seem to go on and on and on and on and (you get the point), I apologize in advance and promise to make it as interesting as I possibly can.

So, for now, let me close by saying thank you. Thank you for checking out my site as I work my way through the wide world that is the internet. Hopefully you liked what you saw.

Either way, drop me a line. I love getting feedback and will strive to make this site the best I can. Let me know how you think I can do that. I really look forward to hearing from you.

In the meantime, let's do this blog thing, shall we?
